The 7th edition of the Itinéraires Artistiques de Saint-Louis will take place from 5 to 30 June 2021 in Saint-Louis. Twenty-eight (28) artists — visual artists, photographers, designers and sculptors — from Senegal and Mauritania will exhibit their works at the museum of the Centre de Recherches et de Documentation du Sénégal (CRDS) ex-IFAN, following selection by a jury chaired by Omar Diack, director of Typic Arts Gallery and Exhibition Commissioner. This year, a younger generation will rub shoulders with the expertise of pioneering and renowned artists. “An exchange of processes and techniques to further stimulate emulation,” notes Abdoukarim FALL, president of NDAR CRÉATION and initiator of the project.

“There is a quality of production and a density of creativity in Senegal and the sub-region that needs to be brought to light. This event aims to meet that challenge,” added the visual artist.

Meissa Fall, Zaccaria Diouck, Aminata Sall, Al Seck, Le Blanc Keita, Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba Diouck, Alioune Badara Kébé, Serigne Gueye, Alboury Fall, Adama Sylla, Samba Sart and Abdoukarim Fall were chosen from the Saint-Louis region. The railway capital will be honoured by Aziz Ndiaye, Cheikh Saliou Ndiaye and Joseph Essamone Coly.

The Dakar region will be represented by Ibrahima Thiam, Baba Ly, Landing Dieme, Badou Diack, Awa Ndiaye, Cheikh Keita, Marianne Senghor, Chalys Leye and Manel Ndoye. Gorgui Boye from Gorée will add to what promises to be a plural and cross-cultural symphony.

Matar Khoule from the Louga region and Apollinaire Bassene from lush Casamance will take part alongside the talented Amy Sy from the neighbouring Republic of Mauritania.

This year, significant innovations are introduced to the organisation, including the launch of an electronic platform bringing together all artists and their works, as well as highlights from previous editions.

Furthermore, workshops and training sessions for schoolchildren and students will accompany the exhibitions over 25 days.
